May 2031 full moon: Wednesday 7 May in Scorpio
The May full moon is exact on Wednesday, 7 May 2031 at 03:42 UTC, with the Moon in Scorpio and 100% of the disc lit.
Meaning
A full moon in Scorpio brings into the open something that was being handled privately: a debt, a suspicion, an attraction, a resentment with a date on it. With a Taurus Sun opposite, the steady surface is exactly what is under test. Saying the smaller true thing works better than the whole confession.
Rituals
- Write down what you are ready to complete or release
- Charge crystals or tools under moonlight with a clear intention
- Practice a grounding meditation before important conversations
Journal prompts

Questions about the May 2031 full moon
What sign is the May full moon in?
Scorpio, because at the moment of a full moon the Moon sits opposite the Sun and takes the facing sign. It advances by roughly one sign a month, so no two consecutive full moons repeat it.
What time is the May full moon in my country?
03:42 UTC is Universal Time. Take five hours off for New York, add one or two for Madrid, add ten or eleven for Sydney. When the instant falls near midnight your local date lands a day either side of 7 May 2031.
When is the next full moon after this one?
5 June 2031, in Sagittarius. Two full moons are 29 or 30 days apart, so the next one normally falls in the following calendar month; the table above lists every full moon of 2031.
What are you supposed to do on the May full moon?
Finish rather than begin: settle the debt, return what you borrowed, send the thing sitting in drafts. The disc reads full to the eye for about a day either side of 03:42 UTC on 7 May 2031, and practice allows that whole window. Starting things belongs to the new moon a fortnight later.
