An annular eclipse is never safe to look at: even the ring is direct sunlight. Keep certified eclipse glasses (ISO 12312-2) on from start to finish.

How to get inside the ring

From Buenos Aires, the nearest ring is on the Atlantic coast of the province: Mar del Plata, Villa Gesell and Pinamar are 340 to 420 km away by road, and the ring there lasts 7 min 39 s to 7 min 52 s. From Montevideo, Punta del Este is about 130 km east by road; La Paloma, further along the coast, gets a longer ring.

From Santiago, the ring is a flight away: Chiloé in Chile, or Esquel in Argentina, where it lasts 7 min 32 s.

What this eclipse means in astrology

17°38′ Aquarius· North Node

A new chapter about friendship, community and the future you want begins with this eclipse in Aquarius on 6 February 2027. At 17°38′ Aquarius, close to the North Node, it points forward: toward friends, teams and shared goals, toward new ideas and tools, and toward your own path among other people. The South Node in Leo asks you to need the spotlight less. Because the eclipse is annular, the Moon does not cover the whole Sun and a “ring of fire” stays visible. Read it as an outline: the shape of what is coming shows now, and the next six months fill it in. It is a restart, and it rewards what you build with others.

Who feels it most

You feel this eclipse most if your Sun, Moon, ascendant or another planet sits between about 13° and 22° of a fixed sign: Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius. If your birthday falls around 6 February, your Sun is on or near the eclipse degree. In those charts, the turn toward new people and new goals is personal and hard to miss.
