How Saturn retrograde shows up
Saturn retrograde asks you to audit commitments, authority, and self-discipline. Old obligations may resurface for closure. Focus on sustainable structure rather than harsh self-judgment.
Saturn retrogrades for about four and a half months a year, and it tends to feel practical before it feels emotional. Deadlines stretch rather than tighten. The push to settle what is pending usually comes from outside, through a request, a rule or a person in charge, so it helps to meet it halfway instead of waiting.
Seven degrees of Aries, crossed three times
The whole cycle stays inside a narrow stretch of Aries, under seven degrees crossed three times between April 2026 and March 2027. Aries is where you act first and ask later, so the review falls on how you start things: commitments you took on impulse, and ones you still carry because saying no felt harder.

Questions about Saturn retrograde 2026
When does Saturn retrograde start and end in 2026?
26 July to 10 December: one window, 137 days. Saturn stations retrograde at 14°45′ Aries and picks up forward motion again at 7°56′ Aries.
What sign is Saturn retrograde in during 2026?
Aries, from start to finish. Saturn entered the sign in 2025 and stays for roughly two and a half years, so every retrograde of this run works a stretch of Aries rather than moving on to a new theme.
What are the Saturn retrograde shadow dates?
The pre-shadow runs from 20 April and the post-shadow closes on 15 March 2027. Nearly eleven months in total, which is normal for Saturn: a slow planet covers little ground, so the same degrees stay in play for most of a year.
Does Saturn retrograde affect everyone?
Everyone has Saturn in their chart, so everyone has a house it sits in, but the people who notice this one most are those with planets or angles between about 8° and 15° of Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn. For everyone else it reads as a slower year in one department rather than as an event.
What does Saturn retrograde mean for work?
Promotions and approvals take longer, and the reason is usually a step that was skipped. The period is well spent on the unglamorous half of a career: agreements that were never put in writing, qualifications that need renewing and questions of scope you keep putting off. What is built in these months holds afterward.
