April 2026 new moon: Friday 17 April in Aries
The April new moon is exact on Friday, 17 April 2026 at 11:54 UTC, with the Moon and the Sun together in Aries.
Meaning
A new moon in Aries is the cleanest start in the year for anything you will have to do alone. It favours the first move over the plan: the application sent, the message written, the weight picked up. Nothing needs announcing — Aries cycles work better before anybody is watching.
Rituals

What time is the April new moon where I am?
11:54 UTC in Universal Time, which is one instant everywhere. New York runs five hours behind it, Madrid one or two ahead, Buenos Aires three; if it falls close to midnight your local date sits a day either side of 17 April 2026.
When is the next new moon after this one?
16 May 2026, in Taurus. New moons repeat every 29 or 30 days, and the table above lists all of them for 2026.
What should I do on the April 2026 new moon?
Start one thing and keep it small enough to survive the week. The usual practice is to write one to three intentions within a day of 11:54 UTC and take a first step inside forty-eight hours, with Aries setting the tone. Endings belong to the full moon a fortnight later.
