Meaning
A new moon in Capricorn starts the long thing: the qualification, the structure, the ten-year version of a plan you have been treating as a hope. It rewards a start date and a first deadline over enthusiasm, and it does not mind how slow the first month looks.

19:54 UTC in Universal Time, which is one instant everywhere. New York runs five hours behind it, Madrid one or two ahead, Buenos Aires three; if it falls close to midnight your local date sits a day either side of 18 January 2026.
When is the next new moon after this one?
17 February 2026, in Aquarius. New moons repeat every 29 or 30 days, and the table above lists all of them for 2026.
What should I do on the January 2026 new moon?
Start one thing and keep it small enough to survive the week. The usual practice is to write one to three intentions within a day of 19:54 UTC and take a first step inside forty-eight hours, with Capricorn setting the tone. Endings belong to the full moon a fortnight later.
