Life path number: questions

How do I calculate my life path number?

Reduce the month, the day and the year of your birth to one digit each, keeping 11, 22 and 33, then add the three and reduce again. For 14 July 1985: July is 7, the 14th is 1 + 4 = 5, and 1985 is 1 + 9 + 8 + 5 = 23, then 2 + 3 = 5. So 7 + 5 + 5 = 17 and 1 + 7 = 8: the life path is 8.

Should I add all the digits at once or the month, day and year separately?

Separately, as the calculators at the top of the search results do. Adding all eight digits at once gives the same number on most dates, but the two methods disagree on 13.4% of birth dates between 1950 and 2010. That is why another calculator may give you a different number; this one shows both when they differ.

Am I an 11 or a 2?

If the final sum is 11, or reduces to 11 the way 29 does, your life path is the master number 11, read as a higher octave of 2. Some numerologists write it as 11/2. A life path 2 means the sum never passed through 11.

Does it matter if I write the date day first or month first?

No. The month, the day and the year are reduced separately and then added, and the order of the three parts does not change the sum.

What is the rarest life path number?

33. Among birth dates from 1950 to 2010 it comes up on 0.9% of days, 22 on 3.0% and 11 on 6.5%. Life path 2 is also less common, at 4.6%, because dates that pass through 11 keep the master number instead.

Can my life path number change?

No. It comes from your birth date, which does not change. A new name changes your expression and soul urge numbers, not your life path.
