How the personal year is worked out
Your birth month, your birth day and the calendar year are each reduced to a single digit, except 11, 22 and 33, which stay whole. Then the three are added and reduced the same way once more.
A birthday on July 14, in 2027:
- Birth month
- 7
- Birth day
- 14 → 5
- The year
- 2027 → 11
- Sum
- 7 + 5 + 11 = 23 → 5
A final sum of 11, 22 or 33 stays whole too and is written 11/2, 22/4 or 33/6: the master number first, then the root it reads as.
The calendar year on its own is the universal year, the same for everyone: 2 + 0 + 2 + 7 = 11, so 2027 reads as 11/2, a year of partnership and patience.

Questions about the personal year
What is a personal year number?
It is the phase of a nine-year cycle you are in for one calendar year. The cycle runs from 1 to 9 and then starts over, so a 9 year is followed by a 1 year. Each number sets the main theme of its year, from starting things in a 1 to closing them in a 9.
Does my personal year start on my birthday?
Here it runs from January 1 to December 31, the calendar school. The birthday school changes the number on your birthday instead, and some authors spread the change over the months around it. Your result shows both dates, so you can read your year either way.
Why does another calculator give me a different number?
Almost always because of master numbers. We keep 11, 22 and 33 whole, so a year that comes out 22 here is a 4 on a site that reduces everything, and a site that adds all the digits at once can land on a master where we do not. The root from 1 to 9 is the same either way.
What does a personal year 11, 22 or 33 mean?
It is the master form of 2, 4 or 6: the same year, asking more of you. 11 comes up every year for some birth dates, while 22 and 33 come up only in some years, every year from 2027 to 2030 among them. Read it as its root, with the stakes raised.
