Three times: 9 February to 3 March, 10 June to 4 July and 7 to 28 October. In between, Mercury moves forward for about three months at a stretch: from early March to early June, and from early July to early October.
What are the Mercury retrograde shadow dates in 2027?
Counting both shadows, the three cycles run 25 January to 23 March, 26 May to 19 July and 17 September to 13 November. Each pre-shadow opens in the air sign where that window will end, so the topic of the last retrograde days often shows up first, two to three weeks before the station.
